In a landmark citizenship policy change, the UAE is to allow for the naturalisation of foreign investors, skilled professionals, such as doctors, scientists, engineers, and talented people, such as artists and authors, and their families. The UAE cabinet, local Emiri courts and executive councils will nominate those eligible for the citizenship under the clear criteria for each respective category with their existing citizenship allowed to remain.  

It is truly historic move as the UAE is the first country in the Middle East to grant not just residency, but also its citizenship to foreigners. Adopted law amendment aims to attracts talented and skilled people to contribute to long-term development of Emirati society and ensure further growth and prosperity.
